This year's edition of the Topsoft trade fair celebrated its debut in the Umweltarena in Spreitenbach. In keeping with the current theme of sustainability, the event offered its numerous visitors exciting insights into a future of more efficiency with less consumption of resources.
Under the slogan "Digitalisation. Live. Konkret", Topsoft opened its doors on Wednesday, 28.8.2019 and offered over 100 suppliers and 28 speakers a platform for their solutions for the digital age. Experts from Germany and abroad accompanied visitors on their journey through the themed worlds and ensured numerous lively discussions and unique insights into solutions for companies at both overall and specialist level. At stands on topics ranging from A for automation to Z for payment transactions, innovators awaited interested parties with showcases and white papers. The numerous trade fair exhibitors were divided into subject clusters, which enabled an efficient visit and also provided the suppliers with an environment for quality exchange. The 16 workshops were interactive, putting a wide variety of topics such as marketing, finance and fashion into a digital context and making their visions and concepts tangible for the participants.
Among all the innovative companies, Onedot was of course also represented. With the PIM/MAM theme cluster, the current relevance of product data was appropriately highlighted and, as experts in product data onboarding, we could of course not miss out. In a half-hour presentation, Onedot's CEO, Bernhard Bicher, together with the ERP and PIM expert, Roger Busch, offered the visitors exclusive insights into one of their projects. Together, they illustrated the implementation of a PIM system at a furniture wholesaler and highlighted the key points of such a Herculean task. In doing so, the two speakers demonstrated the value of well-structured product data in a high-quality PIM (Product information Management) system.
The essence of the presentation was summarised by the speakers in the following six points:
However, not everything went smoothly at Topsoft. The low number of visitors after lunch caused a certain amount of resentment among the stand operators and speakers. The catering, which only accepted cash at a digitalisation trade fair, was not convincing either. In summary, Topsoft was a successful and exciting event, which offered its visitors first-hand insights into the digital possibilities and promoted the exchange between experts and companies of all industries and sizes.
